As framing continues, highlights of the building start to take shape! This opening will be a display case for the elementary art room. It is open from the back side of the classroom and has shelving to display works of art to the corridor.

Ductwork for heating, cooling, and ventilation is being installed. Large main ducts feed each classroom. The corridors are also taking shape. Here you can see how the corridor widens out to create break out areas outside of the classrooms.

All classroom doors are inset into alcoves so that doors can swing outward and not swing into traffic in the corridor.

The roof is being installed on the Media Center. This will feature a large wall of glass that looks out onto the city.

The roof is being installed on the varsity gym. The roof deck is steel but has a wood-grain look but will require essentially no maintenance. Steel also performs better for acoustics than an actual wood deck.

The structural design of the bow-trusses maximized span so the ceiling feels open and even taller.

This feature compliments the curved roof design of the gym and is something that will be unique to Martin County West!

The junior high gym is also ready for roofing. Perforations in the steel decking allow it absorb sound better.
